Justin Cole Sandlin
On August 17, 2011 at approximately 11:00 am, the Echols County Sheriff's Office received information from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Florida of a stolen vehicle possibly located within Echols County. According to Hamilton County the vehicle, a 1999 Ford F 150 pick up silver in color, was located at 1426 Sardis Church Road at the rear of the property by the riverbank. Deputies from Echols County Sheriff’s Office were able to confirm that the vehicle was located at that location. While at said location, deputies observed two individuals returning to the stolen vehicle in a black ford F150 pick up and were able to identify the driver as Justin Cole Sandlin.  Deputies observed the two individuals attempting to strip parts from the stolen vehicle.  Several minutes later the two individuals left the river bank in the black Ford pick up truck, headed towards the main road. The Echols County Sheriff's Office then initiated a traffic stop on the black pick up. The driver of the truck, Justin Cole Sandlin of Lake Park and the passenger Jason Clayton Yarbrough of Pavo were detained for questioning. Further investigation revealed that the rims located on the black Ford pick up had been removed from the stolen 1999 Ford F150 pick up truck. Evidence located at the scene included a gas-powered generator, an electric saw and various hand tools and jacks, which indicated both Sandlin and Yarbrough were attempting to remove parts from the stolen vehicle.  Both Sandlin and Yarbrough were charged with receiving stolen property, operating and conducting a chop shop, and tools for the commission of a crime. Sandlin was also charged with several motor vehicle violations. Both individuals were transported to the Lowndes County jail for processing. Both vehicles were removed from the location and impounded for further investigation
