Joseph Hance Henderson

On September 26, 2011, Joseph Hance Henderson went before Federal Judge Hugh Lawson for sentencing in the Federal Court Building in Valdosta, Georgia. Henderson was indicted federally for a 2010 case involving manufacturing of more than 230 marijuana plants, which were located off of Katie Rob Road in Echols County. Henderson pled guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and received 12 months to serve followed by three years supervised probation.


On Wednesday September 22, 2010 a special flight was requested for marijuana grows located within Echols County. As a result the US Army National Guard helicopter discovered more than 230 marijuana plants located off of Katie Rob Road in Echols County. Evidence retrieved from the scene placed Henderson at the grow site. The plants ranged from 4 to 6 feet in height.


Sheriff Randy Courson commended the efforts of the Echols County Sheriff's Office, South Georgia Drug Task Force, Thomas County Sheriff Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Thomasville and the US Army National Guard.
