                                                                 Kier Sentencing



           Robert Kier Jr. was sentenced in Federal Court in Valdosta, Ga on June 3, 2013 for the burglaries and thefts that occurred in Echols County back in November of 2010.  Further investigations by the Echols County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with numerous other South Georgia and North Florida local law enforcement agencies, including the Lowndes County, and Coffee County Sheriff’s Offices , and the Madison, and Marion County Sheriff’s offices in Florida revealed that Kier was involved in an extensive theft ring with other co-conspirators spanning numerous counties in South Georgia and North Florida.  Kier pled guilty to charges of possession of stolen firearms and possession of stolen goods.  Kier admitted to stealing firearms and ATVs from Echols County in 2010.  Some of the firearms and the all terrain vehicles were later recovered from South GA and North FL. 


            Kier received a total of 20 years with 14 to be served in Federal Prison and the remaining 6 to be served on probation.  Kier was also ordered to pay $54,000.00 in restitution to the victims in the cases.
